UKPROHOSTS started out as KTB WEB SOLUTIONS in 1999. Back then we started to build small websites for wedding and commercial photographers in the area and this quickly took off. In 2000 we started to host our sites with a UK reseller and sold hosting and web services through KTB until 2001. In Dec 2001 we launched UKFREEHOSTS which offered free web hosting with no catches for 1 year. At this time we also invested in our own servers housed for us in the UK and within 2 years UKFREEHOSTS had 14,000 members and around 3,000 domains (free and paid). It became obvious that the support service and admin side of things was starting to affect the service we were offering and so we launched UKPROHOSTS earlier this year. Using the HELM control panel, our customers suddenly had 100% control over their domain and their recurring billing and saw a huge improvement in the service. Today we have retained 98% of the UKFREEHOSTS customers as paying clients which has allowed us to invest in a new support helpdesk, answering tickets often within the hour.
